Editorial Policy

Every Room Better publishes practical interior guidance with a clear separation between editorial judgment and commercial activity. This policy explains how we choose topics, produce guides, check specific claims, update published work and handle corrections, images and paid relationships.

Editorial standards

Our starting point is usefulness. We select topics because readers are asking practical questions about rooms, colors, layouts, finishes, storage, lighting, renovation decisions, budgets and seasonal changes. A topic is not chosen simply because an affiliate commission may be available.

We also apply a measurable-content standard throughout the site.

Topic selection
We prioritize real reader questions and subjects where clear guidance can help someone make a better decision. We do not publish empty “stunning ideas” lists that offer inspiration without reasoning.
Specific colors
When an article names a color, it should give a hex value and at least one real paint reference where relevant. Our method for selecting, comparing and describing colors is explained publicly on the How We Choose Colors page.
Real dimensions
Advice about space should use useful measurements in inches and feet rather than vague phrases such as “leave enough room” or “keep some clearance.”
Dates and updates
Guides carry a publish date. When a guide is meaningfully revised, it carries a visible updated date so readers can tell that substantive changes have been made.
Corrections
Readers can report factual errors by emailing [email protected]. We review the point raised, correct confirmed errors openly and add a correction or update note when the nature of the change warrants one.
Photography and renders
Images may come from original photography, licensed libraries, manufacturers, contributors or other permitted sources. Credits are provided where required or editorially useful. Computer-generated or digitally rendered interiors must be identified as renders and must not be presented as photographs.

Commercial relationships and editorial independence

Advertising, affiliate links, product samples, sponsored work and other commercial relationships do not determine what conclusion a guide reaches. Editorial usefulness comes first, and a commercial opportunity does not create a topic by itself.

Sponsored and affiliate content is always labelled, and payment never changes our recommendation or verdict.

Where a commercial relationship is relevant to a piece of content, we disclose it in a way readers can see and understand. We do not accept payment in exchange for changing an editorial verdict, hiding a material drawback or presenting promotional copy as independent judgment.

How we produce and review guides

Our coverage is focused on practical interiors: styles, individual rooms, color, walls and ceilings, small spaces and layout, decor, textiles and storage, lighting and flooring, renovation and DIY, plus budget, staging and seasonal topics.

We do not cover design history, architecture theory, designer profiles, trade shows, showroom coverage or industry news. We also do not instruct readers to carry out structural, electrical, plumbing or gas work themselves. Where a project crosses into work that requires qualified professional involvement, the guide should make that boundary clear rather than pretending a general interiors article can replace specialist advice.

Questions and corrections

If you believe a factual statement, measurement, product detail, color reference or image description is wrong, email [email protected] and identify the page and the specific point you are questioning. Useful supporting information is welcome.

Confirmed corrections are made in the article itself. When a change is significant enough that readers should know the published guide has materially changed, we add an appropriate correction or update note rather than silently rewriting the record.
